Key Responsibilities
- Handling independent appearances and arguments before courts, along with supervising a team of 5-6 associates for case preparation, strategy, and execution.
- Representing clients in court proceedings, hearings, and effectively preparing arguments and presenting them, and advocating on their behalf.
- Drafting, reviewing, and filing legal documents, including complaints, pleadings of all sorts, writs, briefs, and appeals.
- Conducting legal research and analysis and advising clients on legal strategic advisory and potential outcomes.
- Drafting informative and relevant legal content such as write-ups, articles, posts, transaction alerts, etc., on behalf of the organization.
- Having first-hand experience in handling litigation (either solo or as part of a team) from the stage of data assimilation, data discovery, research, calculation of claims, issuance of demand notice, notice invoking arbitration, drafting of statement of claim, statement of defence, counter claim, other related pleadings, applications (before Tribunal as well as Court), evidence, argument notes, etc.
- Drafting petitions, challenging arbitral awards, and other related pleadings and applications.
Prerequisites:
- Should have experience in handling court litigation.
- Hands-on experience in handling corporate and commercial disputes.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet deadlines.
- Should have participated in, helped, or handled cross-examination including briefing to seniors.
- Undertaken research work including case-law research, technical research, etc.
